UK company Renewable Energy Generation is projecting its latest turbine developments will nearly double wind energy generation for the nation in 2010.

Following the acquisition of a site at High Haswell in County Durham for £0.8 million in cash, the Surrey renewable provider has its sights on installing two 2MW turbines with 12GWh p.a. capacity by the end of this year, according to Business Financial Newswire. It’s also recently contracted with Acciona of Spain for three 1.5MW turbines for its site at Loscar, near Rotherham.

Renewable Energy Generation has publicly stated it plans to invest roughly £100 million of debt and equity into UK wind projects throughout the next three years. It’s also in talks with several banks for a long-term financing facility.
